CHEMTEC ONE Treated Concrete Floors Maintenance Procedures

GENERAL INFORMATION

It is very important to follow these procedures very closely. Concrete floors absorb liquid spills very fast. Therefore it is VERY IMPORTANT to clean up spills, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This procedure was designed by the top silicate densifing manufactures including ChemTec Int’l for proper maintenance of the finished floors. You can use this procedure in its entirety for the best results. It was designed for high volume retail centers. Or you can use any portion you wish that fits your specific needs.

ALWAYS follow maintenance manual and product safety guidelines.

ALWAYS wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when
handling undiluted chemicals and when doing stain removal.


DAY TIME CLEANING

SPILL CLEAN UP

1. ACID SPILLS: such as pickles, vinegar, milk, fruit, fruit juice, etc

  • If the spill is an acid based product make sure to neutralize the area AS SOON AS POSSIBLE with baking soda.

  • Clean up liquid spills as soon as possible. Remove all trash and dust mop debris from floor.

  • Post two or more “Wet Floor” signs around the area to be cleaned.

  • Dry liquid spills as soon as possible using a spill absorbent.

  • Neutralize acid based spills by applying baking soda. Dissolve ½ box baking soda in ½ gallon of water.

  • Pour solution over entire spill area, lightly scrub area with center of red pad, wait minimum of 30 minutes, keep area wet with the solution.

  • Dry area.

  • Do not remove “Wet Floor” signs until the area is totally dry.

2. OTHER SPILLS:

For all other spills remove the spill absorbent and follow by treating the stains as soon as possible with spray bottle labeled Spitfire out of the Solutions Center dispenser.

  • Apply the product to the stain.

  • Wear gloves and goggles and add agitation to the floor using a center of a blue floor pad or a small deck brush. 

  • Allow 2-3 minutes of dwelling time before rinsing with water. Be careful to dry the treated area with a clean dry mop.

  • Do not remove “Wet Floor” signs until the area is totally dry.


NIGHT CLEANING

  • Post two or more “Wet Floor” signs around area to be cleaned.

  • Clean up liquid spills as soon as possible. Remove all trash and dust mop debris from floor. As you go along, carefully remove, labels, or other items stuck to the floor.

  • Remove gum stuck to floor with GUM REMOVER.

  • Fill auto-scrubber solution tank with water and add 1 spoutful (1 ounce) of Revive Cleaner for every 4 gallons of cool water. Use PPE when handling concentrated chemicals.

  • Place blue pads on auto-scrubber.

  • Scrub floor with auto-scrubber and mop areas that cannot be reached by the auto-scrubber.

  • Trail-mop behind auto-scrubber to pick up water left on edges, turns, and low spots on floor.

  • Do not remove “Wet Floor” signs until the area is totally dry.


NIGHT STAIN REMOVAL

Please note that some stains may require more than one spot removal treatment. If the stain has penetrated deeply into the concrete, it may not come out at all. Acid based stains such as milk, juice, vinegar may etch the concrete, potentially causing permanent damage to the concrete.

  • Always use “caution wet floor” signs and wear PPE. Make sure to use the procedures below:

  • Clean area to be treated using the auto-scrubber following the Nightly Cleaning Procedure.

  • Use Pro-Strip for nail polish, paint, oil or grease based stains.

  • For all other stains, use Carpet Science Spotter.

  • Apply product directly to the stained area. Allow 15 minutes of dwelling time. Apply additional product as needed to prevent it from drying dry out.

  • Use red or blue pads to add agitation to the treated area.

  • Rinse area thoroughly using red or blue pads and plain water in the auto-scrubber.

  • Trail-mop behind scrubber to pick up water left on edges, turns, and low spots on floor.

  • Do not remove “Wet Floor” signs until the area is totally dry.


WEEKLY MAINTENANCE

  • Post two or more “Wet Floor” signs around area to be cleaned.

  • Fill auto-scrubber solution tank with water and add 1 spout full (1 ounce) of Revive Cleaner for every 4 gallons of cool water. Use PPE when handling concentrated chemicals.

  • Place black pads on auto-scrubber.

  • Scrub floor with auto-scrubber, keep auto-scrubber moving at all times; do not allow machine to become stationary.

  • Rinse thoroughly the area and vacuum all residue.

  • Trail mop dirty solution residues from edges and turns.

  • Allow floor to completely dry.

  • Do not remove “Wet Floor” signs until the area is totally dry.
